Michael Reese Roper of Denver, Colorado gained his fame from being the lead singer and chief song writer for the Christian third-wave ska band Five Iron Frenzy. After Five Iron Frenzy broke up, he formed another band, Roper, and is also working on his third album with the non-touring band Brave Saint Saturn.

One of the most celebrated elements of Reese Roper's art and personality is his quirky and satirical sense of humor, but his work is also marked by a deep interest in history, politics, and self-awareness. His Christian faith seems rooted in conservative theology but he also seems to reject the conservative politics adhered to by similar ideological groups. He has been the primary lyricist and vocalist in several groups, as well as a key musical contributor. Graduated from East High School, and the University of Colorado at Denver.
