The Military Order of the Stars and Bars is a patriotic fraternal organization for descendants of men who served as commissioned officers in the armed forces of the Confederate States of America. Its home office is in Daphne, Alabama.
Previously, it was headquartered in Columbia, Tennessee in the antebellum house "Elm Springs", where it was co-located with a similar organization, the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Together, the two organizations published a magazine, Confederate Veteran. This arrangement ended in 2005 when SCV Commander-in-Chief Denne Sweeney paid $67,500 to sever relations as part of the on-going purge of moderates and/or anti-racists in the SCV.
