Restraints is an umbella term incomposing many different types of devices used to deny or restrain the movements of a person or animal. When restraining people they can be used to apprehend criminals, such as handcuffs, however many restrains have dual use as sex toys, like handcuffs do, while others such as slings and harnasses have a strictly sexual use. Handcuffs can be used to restrain a sexual partner to instill a sense of dominance and control and can, but is not limited to, being associated with BDSM, or its softporn cousin simply Bondage.
